Buckfast Abbey Bookshop:  Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0EE.  Good range of children's religious books.  (23 miles from Plymouth city centre).

Christian Literature Centre:  The Upper Room, 64 Cornwall Street, Plymouth, PL1 1LR.  Tel: (01752) 661264.  Specialise in religious books.

Early Learning Centre:  11 Cornwall Street, Plymouth, PL1 1NL.  Tel: (01752) 671206.  Devoted to toys, books and activities for pre-school children.  Have a parent and baby room for breast feeding and nappy changing.

In Other Words:  Very sadly, In Other Words closed on 11 May 2007, but they do have an online bookshop at  www.inotherwords.co.uk

W.H Smith:  73 New George Street, Plymouth, PL1 1RP.  Tel: (01752) 669973.  Good range of children's fiction and non-fiction books, including revision guides for GCSE and 'A' level.  Customer lift.

Waterstones:  65-69 New George Street, Plymouth, PL1 1RP.  Tel: (01752) 256699.  Very wide range of children's fiction and non-fiction books, including revision guides for GCSE and 'A' level.
