The following centres offer holiday activities - phone for further information.  As details become available they will appear here.  Previous activities are left to enable visitors to see what sort of activities are offered at various venues.  For further information on half-term and holiday activities in the many community centres and pre-school centres tel: Freephone 0800 783 4259 (Family Information Service - FIS) who keep up-to-date information on activities offered by many other providers throughout the city.

Plymouth City Council Sports Development Unit usually organise sports activities with professional coaches during the half term and school holidays for 8 - 14 year olds.  Booking is essential. Reserve your child's place by phoning (01752) 307137.  Follow the link for full details.

Plymouth City Sports based at Central Park and are subcontracted to Plymouth City Council. Tel: (01752) 607206  The following courses are available every school holiday:
Diving Courses for children from 5 - 13 years (from complete beginner to competitive level).  One 45 min class a day for a week (the week course must be booked and paid for in advance, single lessons not available.
Holiday Fit Club for children from 4 - 10 years.  2 hour gym based activity session, including games, general fitness activities and more.   One x 2 hour session per day, on 2 afternoons per week (must be booked and paid for in advance, single lessons only - no block to book for).
Trampolining for Diving (part of the Learn to Dive Scheme) Trampolining can help divers learn their skills more easily, or it can give those who may be interested in diving, an idea of the type of skills required in the pool.  One x 1 hour class per day for a week (the week course must be booked and paid for in advance, single lessons not available.

Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery
Drake Circus, Plymouth.  Tel:  (01752) 304779.  Plymouth City Museum runs free workshops for children in the half term, Easter and summer holidays.  While the Museum is closed for refurbishment, these will be held in other venues in the city.  Check out all the events on the Museum's own website

30th May 2008 Freedom Fields Park, Greenbank  10.30 am - 3.00 pm  A Day in the Park - Join members of staff from the Museum at the Mutley and Greenbank Community Festival for a day of family friendly activities.  There'll be plenty to see and do with objects from the natural history and human history collections for people to handle and learn more about.  Meet a Civil War re-enactor and create a colourful collage to take home.  No need to book.  Be prepared to wait a short while if the session is busy as activities will be organised on a first come, first served basis.
 
Come prepared - workshops can be messy!  For any further information, or to join the mailing list, please ring the Museum on (01752) 304774.   Admission to the museum is free.

Offers "Activate Sports Programme" for young people aged 8 to 14 years.   This exciting programme provides young people with an opportunity to take part in organised Multi-sports activities, choosing whatever sports they want to take part in.  £5 per session (with the option of extra childcare at £1.50)

 
10.00 am - 4.00 pm  Wide range of activities including football, basketball, tennis, trampolining, quick cricket and quizzes.  They will provide activities to suit children's requests.

Plymouth Unlimited  Tel:  (01752) 300234  A new partnership has been formed between Plymouth Youth Adventure, Plymouth Youth Sailing, Stonehouse Play Association and The Zone to deliver an extensive range of adventure based half-term activities for children and young people.  Day experiences run from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.  All equipment is provided.  Book before 8th February - early booking is advised.

The Mount Batten Centre

The Mount Batten Centre is experienced in delivering an outdoor education service to the people of Plymouth.  It is staffed by qualified instructors and has full activity insurance.  They have been awarded the Adventurous Activity Licence and are a recognised RYA Dinghy Sailing, Powerboating and Windsurfing Teaching establishment.  
Bookings are accepted on a first come first served basis on receipt of a fully completed booking form plus payment.  Included in the course price is all instruction, equipment, transport and RYA logbooks.  Follow the weblink above for further details of their next programme of activities.

Plymouth Ski Centre: Tel: (01752) 600220   During every school holiday, special activity days aim to keep the children entertained whilst improving their sporting skills.  Minimum age for skiing 8 years and for snowboarding 10 years.

Wembury Marine Centre, Wembury, Meet at Wembury Marine Centre, grid reference SX518484.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.   Rockpool rambles last approx. 1½ hours to 2 hours.  Suitable footwear must be worn, for walking on slippery seaweed covered rocks; activity not suitable for dogs or toddlers (unless stated otherwise). Rockpool Rambles £1 adult, 50p child, £2.50 family (2 adults and up to 4 children); Seashore Crafts £1 child, accompanying adults free.
