Second hand goods
Search the website or the world wide web.
Plymouth used to have many small shops which dealt
exclusively with second-hand baby equipment, toys, children's and maternity clothes.
Sadly these appear to have ceased trading although there are many
charity shops around the city. Other ways to obtain second-hand
goods are through the classified adverts in the local newspapers, adverts on local radio,
car boot sales, jumble sales and sales through local groups, such as mother and toddler
groups, playgroups, etc. Please contact Parent Friendly
with details of any other sources of interest to parents in the Plymouth area.
Plymouth and West Devon National Childbirth Trust hold
their twice-yearly sale of good quality children's second hand goods at Woolwell Community
Centre. (See What's On)

| The National Childbirth Trust Nearly New
Sale is fast becoming the place to buy high quality baby and children's goods
for knockdown prices. Sellers collect 60% of the asking price, with the remaining
40% going to NCT funds. Anything relating to babies, toddlers and young children up
to the age of eight can be offered for sale, including clothes, toys, books and equipment.
There are a few items that the NCT cannot sell, such as car seats, crash helmets,
cot mattresses and breast pumps. Anyone
wishing to sell their quality, used items at the nearly new sale should
check out the
NCT
local website for further information.
To make the sale a success, as many sellers as possible are needed.
If you are having a spring or autumn clear-out, then the NCT nearly new sale could be just
what you need! |
