PLYMOUTH SPORTS FORUM

PSF is an umbrella organisation for sports representatives in partnership with Plymouth City Council.  As the local sports council PSF is a sports lottery consultee and its views on lottery grant applications are sought.  PSF is a source of information for sports contacts, grant information, Plymouth's sports strategies, sporting events and much more.  Click here to go to the PSF Website.

BOWLING

There is a ten pin bowling centre at the Barbican Leisure Park, Shapters Road, Coxside, Plymouth, PL4 0LG. 

HORSE RIDING

Riding Schools:

These are listed in Yellow Pages.  For a list of those establishments which are inspected and approved by the British Horse Society click here.  The BHS Website also offers guidance on what to look for in a  riding school.

ICE SKATING

Plymouth Pavilions:  Millbay Road, Plymouth.  Tel:  0845 146 1460.   Freeform ice rink.  Sessions include - family skate; disco skate; monthly session for people with special needs.  Lessons are available for children and adults (from toddler up).   Ice disco sessions for families, and for over 14s.  Discounts for members of Pavilions PALs.  Check out the Website at  www.plymouthpavilions.com

MARTIAL ARTS

"Ki Tigers" TaeKwonDo (WTF):  Meet at  Devonport High School for Boys, Paradise Road, Stoke.  Suitable for boys, girls and adults aged 5 years and upwards.  Regularly enter and are successful in local and national tournaments.  Contact Jon Leggett on 01752 251745 or Andy Bradley on 07907012364.

SAILING

Plymouth Youth Sailing is a young persons' watersports club primarily for 11 to 19 year olds.  Follow the link to their website for further information.

Tamar Sail offer expeditions up the River Tamar on their gaff-rigged sailing boat, Tessa, starting at £20 per person with reductions for family groups.  Tel: (01752) 840599. 

SKI-ING

Plymouth Ski CentreAlpine Park, Marsh Mills, Plymouth. Tel: (01752) 600220.  The largest dry ski slope in the region.  Dry ski-ing and tobogganing from 4 years of age;  snowboarding from 10 years of age. Provides group or one to one lessons whatever the weather!  Also offer children’s activities during the school holidays.  Call for details.  Bar and restaurant.  Visit the website at www.jnll.co.uk/plymouth.php

Plym Ski Kids:  Tel:  (01752) 364058  A lottery-funded activity, for disadvantaged children aged 4 to 16 years, taking them to the Plymouth Ski Centre once a week.

Surfing

Discovery Surf School:  4 Belle Vue Rise, Hooe, Plymouth, PL9 9QD.  Tel: 07813 639 622.  Offer lessons all year round from age 8 years.

The Power Pack

:For young wheelchair users and their families.  Lots of activities, organised by parents - wheelchair football, dancing, filming, etc.  Contact by email  power.pack@hotmail.co.uk
