Barbican Theatre Young People's Steering Group:  The Barbican Theatre is engaged in a number of projects to involve16 to 25 year olds in theatre and performance arts, including technical and marketing aspects. 
Connexions Devon and Cornwall:  Information and advice for 13 - 19 year olds.  A Government-funded local partnership of key agencies who work with young people, such as local authorities, social services, police and probation, health authorities, employment service, voluntary services, etc delivering the Connexions Service.  The Service aims to provide every young person aged 13 - 19 with the best possible information, advice, personal support and guidance to help them in their transition to successful adult and working lives.  Tel:  (01752) 207700.   Visit the website here
 
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme:      The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 23.  Visit the website here for details of the Scheme in the south west.

Plymouth Young People's Agenda 21:   PYPA 21 is an independent organisation that is supported by Plymouth City Council.   Its overall purpose is to help the young people of Plymouth to get involved in 'Agenda 21', the international framework for sustainable development that was agreed to by the world's governments at the 'Earth Summit' in Rio de Janeiro.  It is PYPA 21's task to initially create awareness amongst the younger generation of Plymouth of 'Agenda 21' and then to gather information from them about what these concerns might be and it is this principle that forms the 'backbone' of PYPA 21.   During the summer PYPA21 runs the 'Out and About' series which are relaxed and informal, designed to get young people out enjoying the countryside.  Travel is by public transport to show young people what they can do on their own. The Princes Trust:  COPTE, Picquet Barracks, Cumberland Road, Devonport, Plymouth, PL1 4HX.  Tel: (01752) 306127.    Drop in  to learn more Mon - Fri 9.00 to 4.00.  Young people aged 16 - 24 can join a 60 day team course, including motivation, confidence, work and team skills, and community projects.   Great fun and outdoor activities including rock climbing, abseiling and caving.
The Sea Cadets is a nationwide voluntary youth organisation, open to young people aged 12 to 18, Marine Cadets  for 13 to 18 year olds with Junior sections for 10 to 12 year olds.  Based on waterborne activities, but with lots of other exciting things to learn and do on land as well.
 
The Zone (Youth Enquiry Service):  14-16 Union Street, Derrys Cross, Plymouth, PL1 2SR   Tel:  (01752) 206626.  Offers a wide range of free, confidential services for 8 to 25 year olds, including counselling, general support, sexual health, personal development, help with accommodation, support for young refugees and asylum seekers, etc.  For more information visit www.thezoneplymouth.co.uk
Youth Clubs:  There are many youth clubs located around the city.   To find a local club contact the Youth Work Managers at locations around the city, contact your nearest Leisure Centre, try the City Library database or check with the churches in your locality.
